This piece measures approximately 1 inch in diameter and weighs 6.4 grams. Signed “James Thurber” in script on the backside. It is hallmarked dvb 925. It is in excellent condition!
Born in 1894, James Thurber is known as one of the greatest writers of humor. He was a cartoon artist for the New Yorker magazine. His Reading Dog was published in 1940 in his book titled, “Fables for Our Time”. James Thurber was also an American author, journalist, playwright, and celebrated wit. He was best known for his cartoons and short stories, such as “The Catbird Seat”, published mainly in The New Yorker magazine and collected in his numerous books. He is considered one of the most popular humorists of his time. He celebrated the comic frustrations and eccentricities of ordinary people.
